Tim Smith

Tim has thirty years as a space professional and business executive in Colorado Springs. Upon graduation from college, he worked at Lockheed Martin and then at the Aerospace Corporation supporting readiness and launch activities for multiple military space satellite programs. Tim then went on to join a new Colorado Springs start up, Apogee Engineering. Over the next decade and half, he was part of the executive team growing the company from 10 people to over 650. His portfolio management extended from Hawaii to Maryland. He recently began a consulting business with his wife. Tim is involved with the Colorado Springs Rotary Club and the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute. He also was part of the management team that stood up the first chapter of the Space Force Association, serving as VP. Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics and Energy Science from UCCS and a master’s degree in Physics from UCCS.

Additional Information

Tim lives in Colorado Springs with his wife Susan Meier. He grew up overseas and as a result loves to travel. Tim and Susan have a goal to visit all seven continents. He has two kids, a daughter who is living overseas, and son who is pursuing a physics degree at CU Boulder. Tim enjoys reading, hiking, and challenges himself by learning new languages.
