Fara Gorsi is a pioneer in the world of women’s sports and a transformative figure in global cricket development. Originally from Greater Manchester, England, Gorsi earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from the University of Salford. She began her career as a qualified sports agent and worked as an intermediary with the English Football Association (FA).
Though her professional roots were in football, cricket has always been Gorsi’s greatest sporting passion and the arena in which she has made her most significant impact. In 2012, she became the first British Asian woman to be certified as a registered sports agent by the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB). During her five-year tenure with the ThinkSports agency, she represented high-profile international cricketers, including Pakistani national team members Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir, the latter ranked among the top 10 bowlers in the world at his peak. Leveraging her fluency in both English and Urdu, Gorsi not only led contract negotiations but also secured sponsorship and brand endorsement deals, helping her clients become ambassadors in their native communities.
In 2017, Gorsi took her expertise global, moving to Colorado to become the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Regional Development Manager for the Americas. In this role, she oversees the growth and development of cricket across 16 countries in the Western Hemisphere on behalf of the sport’s global governing body. Gorsi continues her work with the ICC while raising her daughter, Hana. Through her commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and development, Fara Gorsi remains a leading voice shaping the future of cricket and women’s sports on a global scale.
